77th Republic Day of India

Ambassador R. Ravindra unfurled the Tiranga to mark the 77th Republic Day of India in the presence of members of the Indian community in Iceland. On the occasion, he read excerpts from the Hon’ble President of India’s address.

In the evening, the Embassy hosted a reception to commemorate the Republic Day. Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador highlighted the steady growth and deepening of bilateral relations between India and Iceland.

The event featured a captivating classical dance performance by members of the Indian community, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage. A video presentation was also screened, highlighting the bilateral relations between India–Iceland in 2025.

The reception was graced by the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Iceland, Ms. Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir; the Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Innovation and Higher Education, Mr. Logi Már Einarsson; the President of the Supreme Court, Mr. Benedikt Bogason; the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ásgeir Jónsson; and the Former President of Iceland, Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson.
